On October 23, Schweiger Dermatology Group (SDG) announced that it was expanding its presence in the state of Florida with the acquisition of ClearlyDerm.
ClearlyDerm is a dermatology practice based out of five locations in the Ft. Lauderdale, Florida MSA (two in Boca Raton, one in Ft. Lauderdale, one in Boynton Beach and one in Delray Beach). According to its website, there are 12 physicians on staff.
Founded in 2010, SDG is one of the largest group dermatology practices in the Northeast, with more than 110 offices and more than 380 healthcare providers under its umbrella. SDG provides medical, cosmetic and surgical dermatology services to more than one million patient visits annually. It is backed by LLR Partners and SV Health Investors.
This acquisition marks a significant step in strengthening SDG’s presence in the state. The financial terms were not disclosed.
“I was drawn to Schweiger Dermatology Group’s commitment to patient-centric, high-quality care delivered by top-tier providers,” Dr. Andrea Colton, founder of ClearlyDerm, said. “I have no doubt they will not only uphold our legacy, but also expand their exceptional services across Florida for years to come.”
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this acquisition marks the 396th Physician Medical Group deal of 2024, and the 18th in the dermatology specialty. This also marks SDG’s second acquisition of 2024; in January, the company purchased United Skin Specialists, a management service organization focused on dermatology with 10 locations across the country.
