Healthcare staffing firm Health Advocates Network announced that it has acquired WorkSquare Healthcare Staffing Solutions, a Miami, Florida-based staffing agency. WorkSquare’s business include approximately 75% travel nurse and 25% local staffing.
Health Advocates Network specializes in healthcare staffing solutions, providing a range of services within the healthcare sector. The company was founded in 2020 and is based in Boca Raton, Florida.
Plans call for WorkSquare to operate as a separate business under its own brand. Terms of the transaction were not announced.
“I am confident that being part of the Health Advocates Network team will create a win/win for WorkSquare field employees, clients and Health Advocates,” WorkSquare CEO Ian James said in a press release.
“The acquisition of WorkSquare fits perfectly into our strategy of scaling our core travel nurse and local staffing capabilities,” Eddie Albert, director of M&A at Health Advocates Network, said in a press release. “Our acquisition pipeline is robust, and we look forward to closing additional acquisitions in the near future.”
According to Albert, the WorkSquare acquisition represents the fifth acquisition by Health Advocated Network since it was founded. Last year, in April, Health Advocates Network acquired Horizons Healthcare Agency, a Peoria, Illinois-based provider of travel nursing services and staffing, for an undisclosed price.
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this acquisition represents the 15th healthcare staffing transaction of 2024. Other acquirers in the space this year have been SVC Group, Olympus Partners, MedSource Travelers, GQR, GHR Healthcare, Knox Lane, ShiftMed, Arthur Lawrence, Aya Healthcare, HCA Healthcare, Triage and Altrix Technology. There were 29 healthcare staffing deals announced during 2023, and 35 announced during 2022.
