The Braff Group, a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based M&A advisory firm specializing exclusively in health care services, announced the completion of an acquisition of Community Concepts Inc. and Community Visions LLC by Beacon Specialized Living. Both companies run residential and day support programs in Northern Virginia.

Community Concepts provides residential, in-home and day support services to persons with Intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DDs) in the Northern Virginia area.

Founded in 2008, Community Visions provides services, education and advocacy to ensure that people with disabilities direct their own lives.

Beacon Specialized Living, a portfolio company of Pharos Capital Group, offers behavioral healthcare through specialized residential adult foster care facilities and service apartments. It is Michigan’s largest for-profit provider of residential healthcare services to individuals with I/DD, mental health and substance abuse disorders. Beacon has locations in six states including Minnesota, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The acquisition of Community Concepts and Community Visions marks Beacon’s first foray into Virginia.

The Braff Group represented Community Concepts and Community Visions in the transaction. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this acquisition represents the 38th Behavioral Health Care transaction of 2024, and the third announced in the I/DD specialty. There were eight I/DD deals announced during 2023, and seven announced during 2022.
