Osstem Implant announced on May 2 that it entered into an agreement to acquire a 100% stake in Implacil de Bortoli for $89.8 million.
Implacil de Bortoli is a Brazilian dental implant firm. With a portfolio of approximately 1,300 product items, the company offers a complete dental solution, ranging from dental implants and prosthetic components to surgical kits and biomaterials. The company has an annual production capacity of 9.1 million units and operates five distribution centers covering more than 13,000 clients across Brazil. According to the press release, the company reported $874 million in revenue in 2023.
Osstem Implant, which is backed by MBK Partners and UCK Partners, offers a variety of implant systems applicable to a wide range of clinical cases. It is focused on dental care. The company is based in Seoul, South Korea.
Funding for the transaction is expected to be provided through surplus cash from Osstem Implant’s U.S. subsidiary, Hiossen. The deal is expected to close by the end of May 2024.
