Viemed Healthcare, Inc. announced that it acquired East Alabama HomeMed.
East Alabama HomeMed, also called HomeMed, provides home medical equipment services to patients within the East Alabama Health network, as well as those in the surrounding areas of Eastern Alabama.
Viemed Healthcare is a provider of in-home medical equipment and post-acute respiratory healthcare services in the United States. Viemed’s service offerings are focused on effective in-home treatment with clinical practitioners providing therapy and counseling to patients in their homes.
The transaction closed on April 1, 2024, with Viemed acquiring a majority ownership interest and assuming managerial responsibilities of East Alabama HomeMed. East Alabama Health will retain a minority, non-controlling interest in the entity.
Viemed expects incremental annualized revenue from the acquired operations of approximately $4 million, according to the original deal press release from April 2, 2024. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this acquisition marks the 20th Home Health & Hospice transaction of 2024. This is also Viemed Healthcare’s first acquisition of the year, and its first since the purchase of Home Medical Products in April 2023.
