Intermountain Medical Imaging announced on April 1 that it is acquiring Saltzer Health Imaging from Saltzer Health. Saltzer Health Imaging is an imaging center located in the Ten Mile Clinic and near I-84 in Meridian, Idaho.

This news comes the same week Saltzer Health announced the sale of three facilities to Boise, Idaho-based Saint Alphonsus Health System after the group was closed March 29 by Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health. Those facilities included two urgent care centers in South Nampa and Meridian, Idaho, and an ambulatory surgery center in Meridian, Idaho.

Intermountain Medical Imaging is a comprehensive outpatient radiology imaging center with three locations in the Boise MSA. Intermountain Medical Imaging and Intermountain Health are separate entities.

With the addition of a fourth imaging center location, Intermountain Medical Imaging will offer patients and providers additional appointment flexibility for exams, including MRI, CT, Ultrasound, X-ray, Mammography and bone density scans.

With the purchase of these imaging services, Intermountain Medical Imaging also commits to offering positions to several current Saltzer Health imaging center employees who have been integral in the day-to-day operations and expects to offer more jobs in future. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We look forward to being able to support continuity of care and expand essential outpatient imaging access within the community,” said Wayne Baldwin, Chief Executive Officer of Intermountain Medical Imaging. “Our target to reopen the imaging center is the week of April 8, 2024.”

This transaction marks the 37th Laboratories, MRI and Dialysis transaction of 2024, with three of them in the MRI specialty. In 2022, 125 Laboratories, MRI and Dialysis transactions were reported.
