Newport Beach, California-based TriasMD has announced its acquisition of Thousand Oaks Surgery Center.
Thousand Oaks Surgery Center is an AAAHC-accredited, Medicare-certified ambulatory surgery center (ASC) In Thousand Oaks, California. The facility features four operating rooms, five private pre-op rooms, 11 recovery bays and two overnight suites for patients staying 23 hours or less.
TriasMD is a musculoskeletal management company. Using the data-driven model created by its subsidiary, DISC Surgery Center, TriasMD positions facilities to thrive, building a clinically integrated network of providers and monitoring the network’s quality.
The strategic acquisition will allow DISC Surgery Centers to expand its ASC model in California. Following the acquisition, Thousand Oaks Surgery Center will be renamed DISC Surgery Center at Thousand Oaks.
As part of this partnership, TriasMD becomes a majority partner and will work closely with the ASC’s physician owner Dr. Alexander P. Hersel to enhance the ASC’s complex spine and orthopedic services and collaborate with payors to expand patient access. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this transaction represents the fifth ASC acquisition of 2024. During 2023, 27 ASC acquisitions were announced.
This also marks TriasMD’s third ASC acquisition since February 2023, when it acquired Gateway Surgery Center in Santa Clarita, California. TriasMD followed that up with the purchase of Pinnacle Surgery Center in Walnut Creek, California in October 2023.
