Carenet Health announced that it is acquiring Health Dialog, a wholly owned subsidiary of Rite Aid Corporation. This acquisition enables Carenet to leverage its combined platform, analytics and clinicians to deliver greater efficiency and outcomes-based financial performance for clients.
Health Dialog is a leading provider of population health management solutions. The company works with the U.S.’s largest health plans, employers and providers to improve the health and wellness of their members, employees, patients and customers. Health Dialog’s capabilities include data analytics, a multi-channel coaching platform, shared decision-making tools and a 24/7 nurse line.
Carenet Health provides healthcare engagement services and 24/7 access to medical care by arranging transportation, organizing home health support and equipment and explaining the benefits of exams and immunizations. Carenet is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, with additional office locations in New Mexico, Maine and the Philippines.
Carenet is acquiring Health Dialog’s clinical staff, population health programs and data analytics and modeling capabilities. Health Dialog’s medication adherence management and medication therapy management solutions are not included in the proposed transaction. Instead, Rite Aid will be integrating these into its clinical offerings.
The transaction is expected to close early in Q2 2024. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this transaction represents the 52nd eHealth acquisition of 2024, and the eighth in the analytics specialty. During 2023, there were 273 eHealth and 35 analytics transactions announced.
