Concentra Inc. announced on February 26 that it is expanding its presence in Virginia with the acquisition of I&O Medical Centers.
I&O Medical Centers is an occupational health service based out of four locations in the Norfolk, Virginia MSA. The company was founded in 1987
Concentra Inc., a division of Select Medical, is a premier provider of occupational health services focused on improving the health of America’s workforce. The company is headquartered in Addison, Texas and operates more than 540 urgent care centers in 44 states and more than 150 onsite medical facilities. Concentra has more than 1,000 affiliated physicians and 1,285 physical therapists.
I&O Medical Centers’ locations will be renamed under the Concentra name brand. This transaction marks Concentra’s first acquisition of 2024. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this transaction marks the fourth occupational health acquisition of the year. In 2023, there were 19 occupational health transactions reported. Additionally, throughout 2023, Concentra completed eight acquisitions.
