The American Oncology Network, LLC (AON) announced that it is welcoming Maryland-based Bay Hematology Oncology to its expanding network of practices.

Bay Hematology Oncology is a community-based medical oncology and hematology practice providing treatment for patients diagnosed with all types of cancer and blood disorders. The practice currently has clinic locations in Easton and Centreville, Maryland. According to its website, the practice has three providers on staff.

AON is an alliance of physicians and healthcare leaders partnering to ensure the long-term success of community oncology. Founded in 2018, AON’s network represents more than 220 providers practicing across 20 states.

In addition to the current patient services offered, as part of the AON partnership, Bay Hematology Oncology’s two clinics will offer additional patient resources, including in-house pathology services, enhanced in-house specialty pharmacy for oral oncolytic medication and care coordination for patients, among other benefits. This marks AON’s third partner practice in Maryland. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this represents the 56th Physician Medical Group (PMG) transaction of 2024, as well as the third oncology deal. There were 535 PMG deals announced during 2023, including 17 in the oncology specialty.
