OneOncology, Inc., a subsidiary of TPG Capital and AmerisourceBergen Corporation, announced that it acquired two practices through portfolio companies, expanding its oncology presence in Michigan and California.  

Genesee Cancer and Blood Disease Treatment Center, operating in Flint, Michigan, was purchased by Cancer and Hematology Centers. Genesee Cancer is led by Dr. Rizwan Danish. 

Pacific Cancer Medical Center, a five-provider practice servicing the Los Angeles MSA, was bought by Los Angeles Cancer Network, a leading cancer treatment center in California. Pacific Cancer Medical Center also provides clinical trials services. 

In addition to the acquisitions, OneOncology also announced that its portfolio company Tennessee Oncology was welcoming three providers from Maury Regional Medical Group in Columbia, Tennessee. 

OneOncology is a national network of independent community oncologists assisting partner practices to expand their cancer care services. Its network includes 850 physicians practicing at more than 180 sites, serving approximately 280,000 patients annually. In April 2023, OneOncology was purchased by TPG Capital and AmerisourceBergen for $2.1 billion from General Atlantic.  

According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, there have been 493 Physician Medical Groups acquisitions announced throughout 2023, 16 of them in the oncology specialty. In addition to these transactions, OneOncology added four other oncology practices to its network in 2023, expanding its network by 40 physicians.
