Palm Medical Centers, a portfolio company of MBF Healthcare Partners II, L.P., has announced its acquisition of Amana Medical Center P.A. in Oviedo, Florida. 

Amana Medical Center is a primary care clinic. The clinic is led by Dr. Jamal Abusuwa, a primary care physician with more than 20 years of experience with managed care programs. 

Palm Medical Centers is a provider of value-based primary care services. The company also coordinates cardiology, dentistry, optometry, pediatrics, podiatry, psychiatry and other specialist services. Operating a network of 36 medical centers across nine counties in Florida, Palm Medical Centers serves more than 50,000 Medicare Advantage and managed Medicaid patients. 

This addition marks the 36th clinic operated by Palm Medical Centers in Florida and Texas, and the 6th location serving the greater Orlando market. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. 

According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this acquisition marks the 29th health clinics transaction of 2023. This is a slight increase over last year when 24 health clinic acquisitions were announced between January 1, 2022, and November 6, 2022.
