AirLife, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, announced its acquisition of Avanos Medical, Inc.’s Respiratory health business on October 2. Goodwin Procter LLP is acting as legal counsel to AirLife. Terms were not disclosed.
Avanos Medical’s respiratory health business includes BALLARD, MICROCUFF and the endOclear® product lines. AirLife is also purchasing two of Avano’s manufacturing facilities.

AirLife (previously SunMed) is a leading medical device manufacturer, offering a comprehensive portfolio of consumable anesthesia and respiratory care products. It has manufacturing and distribution sites in the United States, Mexico, China and Europe. Frazier Healthcare Partners, a private equity firm based in Seattle, acquired a majority ownership stake in AirLife in 2021.
The transaction advances AirLife’s strategy to enhance its portfolio of products in anesthesia and respiratory care and serve even more customers as a one-stop source for high-quality consumable breathing solutions that support patient outcomes.
