Dallas, Texas-based Unifeye Vision Partners (UVP) announced on September 25 its acquisition of Sweeney Eye Associates. The financial terms were not disclosed.
Sweeney Eye Associates is an ophthalmology practice with two locations in the Dallas, Texas MSA. It provides services out of its clinic and ambulatory surgery center. According to its website, it has six physicians on staff.
UVP, a portfolio company of private equity firm Waud Capital Partners, is a network of eye care providers. The company provides management and support services to ophthalmology and optometry practices as well as single-specialty eye surgery centers. UVP extends its operations to a network of more than 120 providers, more than 45 clinic locations and 14 ambulatory surgery centers.
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this transaction represents the 408th Physician Medical Groups acquisition of the year, and the 35th in the eye care specialty. This acquisition represents UVP’s entry into the Texas market, and the company’s fifth partnership since the start of the year.
