New Story announced on September 18 that it entered an agreement to acquire Parsippany, New Jersey-based Thrive Alliance Group

Thrive Alliance Group is focused on supporting children with mental health needs in school. It provides care to children and young adults with special education needs in its private schools and directly within public schools for children with Individual Education Plans.

Founded in 1997, New Story is a provider of special and alternative education and therapeutic services. New Story offers integrated academic and therapeutic programming to children and young adults with autism spectrum disorder, mental illness, emotional and behavioral challenges. Rivermont Schools and Your Life ABA clinics are part of the New Story network of schools, clinics and services.

This acquisition enables school districts that partner with New Story to meet the diverse special education and mental health needs of their students. This is New Story’s second acquisition of the year; previously it purchased the Virginia assets of the Center for Autism & Related Disorder. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this transaction represents the 58th Behavioral Health Care acquisition of 2023, and the sixth in the intellectual/developmental disability specialty.
