Smile Doctors, LLC announced that it has acquired five dental practices.
The practices are Blackburn Family Orthodontics in Katy, Texas; Weaver Orthodontics in Jonesboro, Arkansas; Smith Smile Orthodontics in Marietta and Canton, Georgia; Weissman Orthodontics in two Birmingham, Alabama locations; and Smiles of Ohio, with three locations.
Smile Doctors, a portfolio company of Linden Capital Partners and Thomas H. Lee Partners, is an orthodontic dental support organization with more than 400 locations in 28 states.
This is Smile Doctors’ fourth acquisition of 2023 where it has added 23 practices to its portfolio.
These acquisitions were announced alongside the announcement that Smile Doctors completed a capital raise of more than $550 million. According to the press release, the capital “will support the network in continuing its industry-leading affiliation growth, enhance its strategic investments in technology, and continue to expand its support staff capabilities.”
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this transaction marks the 309th Physician Medical Groups acquisition of 2023, and the 96th in the dental specialty.
