Urgent Care Group, backed by Capital Alignment Partners and Harbert Management Corporation, announced the acquisition of ParkMed Urgent Care in Alcoa, Tennessee.
ParkMed Urgent Care has been providing urgent care, preventative care and occupational health services to the greater Knoxville and Blount County communities since 1989.

The Urgent Care Group network includes 56 centers operating as six brands: Covenant Health Urgent Care in partnership with Covenant Health in Tennessee, Health Choice Urgent Care in partnership with Northside Hospital in Georgia, Medac Urgent Care in North Carolina, MEDcare Urgent Care in South Carolina, ParkMed Urgent Care in Tennessee and Total Access Urgent Care in Missouri.
Andrew Herda, MD, and all ParkMed employees, have joined Urgent Care Group and will continue to provide service to Blount County and Knoxville County. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this transaction marks the fifth urgent care transaction of the year. Just last week, HonorHealth, a nonprofit health system based in Scottsdale, Arizona, announced the acquisition of 26 urgent care centers in Arizona.
