GI Alliance announced on June 21 its latest partnership with Digestive Health Center in Ocean Springs, expanding GI Alliance’s presence in Mississippi. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The specialists at Digestive Health Center in Ocean Springs, Mississippi diagnose and treat a variety of gastrointestinal problems. Digestive Health Center treats both pediatric and adult patients and specializes in colonoscopy, ERCP and upper endoscopy procedures. According to its website, Digestive Health Center includes four office locations with four physicians, seven nurse practitioners, a registered dietitian and 50 team members.
GI Alliance is a physician-led and majority physician-owned GI practice management company providing services to more than 800 independent gastroenterologists operating in Texas, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Utah, Washington and Connecticut.
GI Alliance was formed through Waud Capital Partners‘ partnership with Texas Digestive Disease Consultants in November 2018. In August 2022, the physician owners of GI Alliance acquired the remaining 30% equity stake previously held by Waud, valuing GI Alliance at $2.2 billion.
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this acquisition marks the 275th Physician Medical Groups transaction of 2023, and the 13th in the gastroenterology specialty. This also represents GI Alliance’s fourth acquisition of 2023. In 2022, GI Alliance completed six acquisitions.
