On June 6, Balance Health and Weil Foot & Ankle Institute (WFAI) announced a merger between the two organizations.
WFAI is a premier provider of podiatric care. According to its website, the company operates out of 26 locations in Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan and Virginia. WFAI is run by 52 providers.
Balance Health is one of the nation’s premier comprehensive lower-extremity focused managed services organizations. According to its website, it operates out of 28 locations.
With this merger, the companies have formed the largest majority physician-owned podiatric medical organization in the United States, according to the press release.
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this acquisition represents the 258th Physician Medical Groups transaction of the year and the sixth in the podiatry specialty.
