Ascend Vision Partners (AVP), backed by private equity firm Chicago Pacific Founders, announced a partnership with Winter Park Ophthalmology.
AVP will perform the business functions for the practice, including legal and regulatory compliance, insurance negotiations, human resources, IT, finance, marketing, legal guidance and more. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Led by Dr. Rebecca Kurzon, Winter Park Ophthalmology treats patients in Winter Park, Florida, for medical diseases of the eye and provides ocular surgery such as cataract removal and routine exams.
Established in 2022, AVP delivers business solutions for eye care professionals. The company’s 300 employees provide eye care to more than 250,000 patients annually across the southeastern U.S.
The deal follows AVP’s acquisition last month of two Florida-based vision groups, Cohn Eye Center and R&E Optical.
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this acquisition represents the 116th Physician Medical Groups (PMG) and 12th eye care transaction of the year. There were 129 PMG and 26 eye care deals announced between January 1, 2022, and March 23, 2022.
