GI Alliance announced on January 26 a partnership with Connecticut GI, expanding GI Alliance’s presence into the Northeast and its 15th state.

Based in Rocky Hill, Connecticut, Connecticut GI specializes in digestive health, liver disorders and colorectal cancer screening. The company includes 82 physicians, 45 advanced practice providers and 400 team members providing GI care in 25 practices and 25 procedure locations.

GI Alliance is a physician-led and majority physician-owned GI practice management company providing services to nearly 800 independent gastroenterologists operating in Texas, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Utah, Washington and Connecticut.

GI Alliance was formed through Waud Capital Partners‘ partnership with Texas Digestive Disease Consultants in November 2018. Apollo Global Management facilitated a $785 million physician-led buyout of GI Alliance in September 2022. Last year, GI Alliance announced seven acquisitions.

According to data captured from the LevinPro HC database, this acquisition marks the 34th Physician Medical Groups (PMG) transaction of the year, and the third in the gastroenterology specialty. This is a significant decrease from last year when there were 74 PMG and 11 gastroenterology transactions announced between January 1, 2022, and January 26, 2022.
