BayCare Health System announced that it acquired Tampa-based Northside Behavioral Health Center.
BayCare Health operates 13 hospitals and hundreds of outpatient locations throughout the Tampa Bay and central Florida regions.
Northside Behavioral Health Center, established in 1976, is a non-profit organization committed to serving Hillsborough County, Florida residents suffering from or at risk for mental illness.
As of January 1, 2023, when the deal was finalized, the Northside Behavioral Health Center was renamed BayCare Northside Behavioral Health Center. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this marks the first Behavioral Health Care (BHC) transaction of the year. In 2022, there were 107 announced BHC acquisitions.
