Cloud 9 Software, a Roswell, Georgia-based provider of cloud-based practice management systems, acquired Birmingham, Alabama-based Focus Ortho. The deal was announced on November 28, 2022.
With the acquisition, Cloud 9 Software will increase its customer footprint and accelerate investments in its platform and service delivery. Cloud 9 will continue to support the availability of the Focus Ortho platform for current customers. Focus Ortho team members will integrate to become part of the Cloud 9 organization. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Focus Ortho offers a cloud-based orthodontic practice management software platform that provides support to hundreds of offices across the U.S. and Canada. In 2015, Focus Ortho obtained an exclusive license to Intelligent Medical Software (IMS) Practice Management Software and began supporting IMS clients.
Cloud 9 Software is a browser-based practice management platform for orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, orthodontic service organizations and dental service organizations. The company serves more than 2,300 locations with thousands of providers and millions of patients.
According to the LevinPro HC database, this marks the 306th eHealth transaction of 2022 and the 15th deal in the medical practice management software (MPMS) subsector. This represents a decrease from 2021 when there were 326 eHealth and 28 MPMS transactions announced between January 1, 2021, and November 28, 2021.
