Navvis and Esse Health, two leaders in population health and value-based care, announced on October 20 that they would merge and form a new healthcare company called Surround Care. The combination is set to close on October 31, 2022. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Surround Care, the new parent company of Navvis and Esse Health, projects revenues of $663.5 million in 2022 and has 1,200 employees, over 4 million attributed patients being served, 4,600 affiliated physicians and operations in nine states.
Esse Health is an independent physician group that strives to improve the overall well-being of its patients through patient education, lifestyle modification and prevention. With 50 locations throughout the St. Louis and Metro East area, Esse Health’s services include asthma, allergy and immunology, child psychiatry, family medicine, gastroenterology, internal medicine, nutrition, orthopedics, pediatrics, radiology and urology.

According to the LevinPro HC database, this marks the 14th deal in the Primary & Value Based Care subsector. The largest deal of 2022 within the subsector has been Amazon’s acquisition of One Medical, a network of primary care clinics across the United States, for approximately $3.9 billion.
