Cardiovascular Associates of America (CVAUSA) announced on October 7 that it acquired Chicago Cardiology Institute (CCI). According to the LevinPro HC database, this marks the seventh Physician Medical Groups (PMG) acquisition of the year.

CVAUSA is a physician management services organization headquartered in Orlando. Through CVAUSA’s physician-centered practice management model, physicians can drive clinical care and practice culture, while benefiting from the business expertise and shared resources available through CVAUSA.

Founded in 2009, CCI is complemented by Chicago Vascular Clinic (CVC). CCI & CVC offer the full spectrum of hospital-based, office-based and ambulatory services for patients with heart, vascular and circulatory disorders. CCI has vein and heart clinics located in Schaumburg and Oak Park, Illinois.

This acquisition broadens CVAUSA’s geographic reach and functional expertise. CCI was represented by Brown Gibbons Lang & Company, who initiated the transaction and served as the exclusive financial advisor. Terms were not disclosed.
