U.S. Oral Surgery Management (USOSM), a management services organization serving oral and maxillofacial surgeons, announced on Aug. 23 a partnership with Oral and Facial Surgeons of Michigan, marking USOSM’s first partner practice in the state.
USOSM will provide Oral and Facial Surgeons of Michigan with support services, such as HR, technological support and negotiations of third-party payment schedules. Oral and Facial Surgeons of Michigan will retain complete clinical autonomy.
Oral and Facial Surgeons of Michigan is an oral and maxillofacial practice with four locations in southeast Michigan. It has locations in Brighton, Clarkston, Hartland and Waterford. The practice has six doctors who provide dental implants, wisdom tooth removal, corrective jaw surgery and the diagnosis and treatment of facial pain and injuries.
USOSM, a portfolio company of New York City-based private equity firm Oak Hill Capital Partners, has partnered with practices in 20 states. The company was formed in 2017.
According to the LevinPro HC database, this marks the 368th Physician Medical Group (PMG) deal of 2022. Dental, which is typically one of the busiest PMG subsectors, has recorded 110 transactions this year. During the first quarter of 2022 there were 28 dental deals with 48 in the second quarter. The third quarter so far has accounted for 34 dental deals.
USOSM is one of the busier acquirers in the dental space, with six announced deals since the start of 2022. Other active dental acquirers this year include MB2 Dental with 10 deals, Dental Care Alliance, LLC with seven transactions, Guardian Dentistry also with seven deals and Imagen Dental with six transactions.
