Consensus Cloud Solutions, a trusted global source for the transformation, enhancement and secure exchange of digital information, announced that it has acquired Summit Healthcare Services in a deal finalized on February 4, 2022. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The combination of Summit Healthcare’s technology solutions and services with Consensus Cloud Solution’s advanced cloud and Natural Language Processing (NLP)/Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities will provide many benefits throughout the continuum of care, including improved staff productivity and care continuity, which will positively impact health outcomes.

This is Consensus’ first acquisition as a company. The acquisition accelerates Consensus Cloud Solutions’ vision to transform, enhance and secure the exchange of digital information through the addition of Summit Healthcare’s interoperability, care continuity and workflow automation product suite. The deal also broadens Summit Healthcare’s technology offerings to include a new level of cloud solutions such as digital cloud faxing, digital signature, NLP and AI tools.

“We continue to see a growing need for advanced security and cloud-based solutions from our customers. Additionally, there is a strong demand for technology that reduces burnout, supports limitations or reductions in workforce, and improves both clinician and patient satisfaction,” said Jim McKinnon, President of Summit Healthcare. “Collectively, Summit Healthcare and Consensus Cloud Solutions have been tackling these challenges for over 20 years, and now with the combination of our respective solutions and services, we can add more value to the hospitals and health systems we support.”

Summit Healthcare offers healthcare organizations a premiere suite of tools to address every integration, workflow automation, dictionary/domain management, and care continuity that they might need.

Consensus Cloud Solutions spun off from its parent company Ziff Davis, Inc. (formerly known as J2 Global) and started trading as an independent, public company on October 8, 2021. The company enables healthcare organizations to exchange actionable data through interoperability capabilities including HIPAA compliant secure cloud faxing, direct secure messaging, real-time event notifications and more.
