Family Allergy & Asthma announced that it acquired the practice of Allergy & Asthma Specialists, based in Philadelphia.
Allergy & Asthma Specialists was founded in 1989 and has 10 physicians at eight offices in Philadelphia, Bucks and Montgomery counties.
Family Allergy & Asthma of Louisville has 74 physician offices in six states (Arkansas, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Tennessee). The practice first expanded into Pennsylvania last August through its acquisition of Allergy & Asthma Consultants, which has offices in York and Hanover.
This acquisition strengthens Family Allergy & Asthma’s position in Pennsylvania. Allergy & Asthma Specialists will maintain its current name and operate as a division of Family Allergy & Asthma. Dr. Robert Anolik, founder of Allergy & Asthma Specialists, said the practice decided to join Family Allergy & Asthma to allow its physicians and staff to focus solely on patient care, while continuing to expand patient access to board-certified allergists. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
This is the first allergy physician medical group acquisition of the year, but the 19th physician medical group acquisition of the month. In all of 2021, there were only four allergy acquisitions.
