Schweiger Dermatology Group (SDG), the leading dermatology group in the Northeast, announced the acquisition of The Derm Group, a dermatology practice in the greater New Jersey area. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The Derm Group was founded in 1992 by Dr. Daniel Grossier. Since its inception, the company has grown from a single-physician practice to one of the largest dermatology practices in New Jersey and the surrounding area, with over 200,000 patient visits annually. Dr. Groisser has assembled an all-star team of the country’s top dermatology providers, renowned in the treatment of skin cancer, as well as some of the country’s leading medical and cosmetic dermatologists.

Schweiger Dermatology Group is the largest group dermatology practice in the Northeast, with over 90 offices and over 250 healthcare providers under its belt. SDG provides medical and cosmetic dermatology services to over one million patients annually.

“This partnership marks a significant and meaningful new chapter for SDG, as we solidify ourselves as the leading practice for top tier dermatology care in New Jersey,” says Dr. Eric Schweiger, founder and CEO of Schweiger Dermatology Group.

This partnership will add 13 new office locations and 40 new providers to the SDG portfolio and expand the company’s footprint in the New Jersey region. The new offices will be located in multiple New Jersey regions, including Egg Harbor Township, Marlton, North Wales, Paramus, Riverdale, Warren, Freehold Township, Livingston, Morristown, Nutley, Princeton, Verona and West Orange. Dr. Groisser will join the Schweiger Dermatology Group Medical Management team and continue to see patients as normal.

Keith Price from Sandberg Phoenix, Mark Stein from Morgan Lewis, Michele Masucci from Nixon Peabody LLP and Sam Walker from Blank Rome LLP acted as legal counsel to SDG. The Derm Group was represented by Adrienne Walker from Locke Lord LLP and advised by David Campbell from Getzler Henrich & Associates LLC.

This acquisition marks yet another acquisition for SDG in what’s turning out to be a busy year for the dermatology group. Just last week on October 1, SDG announced the acquisition of Warmuth Institute of Dermatology, a dermatology practice with offices in Elmer and Swedesboro, New Jersey. Earlier in January, the group acquired Montgomery Dermatology, a dermatology practice with three office locations in King of Prussia and Audubon, Pennsylvania, as well as a practice owned by Dr. Joseph Newmark in Vestal, New York.
