U.S. Oral Surgery Management (USOSM) has cemented its position as one of the country’s most active physician medical group acquirers. With six acquisitions announced in the second quarter alone, USOSM has significantly expanded its regional portfolio from its humble beginnings in 2017 when it was formed by RiverGlade Capital and The Thurston Group

USOSM is a specialty management services company focused on oral and maxillofacial surgery headquartered in Irving, Texas. It partners with smaller physician groups and provides operational, marketing and administrative support services to improve clinical and financial performance and produce steadier, more profitable growth.

The practice focused on its home market throughout 2018, acquiring five groups in Texas throughout the year. Since then, USOSM has touched down in Texas, Colorado, Georgia, Tennessee, Minnesota, Alabama, Oklahoma, Louisiana, South Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky.

The organization was especially busy in the second quarter of 2021, announcing four transactions. In April, USOSM partnered with Kingwood Oral Surgery (1 physician) in Kingwood, Texas, Atlantic Oral Surgery and Implant Center (1 physician) in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Associates (2 physicians) in Jackson, Mississippi. The fourth deal was announced in early May for WestShore OMS Specialists (2 physicians) located in Naples, Florida.

And in the third quarter, USOSM is off to a quick start. Last week, it purchased Guyette Facial and Oral Surgery (two physicians) in Scottsdale, Arizona, giving USOSM a foothold in a new market. USOSM President and CEO Richard Hall said this acquisition begins the company’s expansion to the west, so we expect the second half of the year to be full of new announcements from USOM.
