Sheridan, the Physicians Services division of AmSurg Corp (NASDAQ: AMSG), came in hot the first week of July with three announced acquisitions in Florida.

On July 5th, AllegiantMD, Inc. joined Sheridan’s existing roster of over 300 fellowship-trained, board-certified radiologists, who cover 150 facilities across 22 states.  Based in Tampa, Florida, AllegiantMD is a privately-held provider of on-site and remote-read subspecialized radiology services. The combination will account for approximately six million radiology interpretations on an annualized basis, primarily delivered through exclusive contracts with hospitals and imaging centers.

On July 6th, Sheridan announced the acquisition of two privately-held, Florida-based anesthesiology practices:

The first, South Lake Anesthesia Services, is the exclusive provider of anesthesia services at South Lake Hospital, South Lake Hospital Outpatient Surgery Center, and South Lake Endoscopy Center in Clermont, FL, all in affiliation with the Orlando Health System.

The second practice, Resolute Anesthesia and Pain Solutions, is one of the largest ambulatory-based anesthesia practices in the country with over 100 providers. It delivers its services through 30 facilities in Florida, New Jersey, Missouri and Illinois. That includes 20 ambulatory surgery centers, three hospitals and nine pain management clinics.

These anesthesiology partnerships provide an important expansion for AmSurg’s anesthesiology platform, and further complement Sheridan’s existing offerings in the provision of pain management services.
