EyeSouth Partners Acquires Retina and Vitreous of Texas

EyeSouth Partners announced on September 5 that it partnered with Retina and Vitreous of Texas, one of Houston’s leading retina-only practices. The affiliation represents EyeSouth’s thirty-eighth overall and the network’s first retina-only affiliation in the state of Texas. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.  Retina and Vitreous of Texas has served the greater Houston market for more than 25 years, been involved in upwards of 180 medical publications and developed a nationally-renowned fellowship program that was originally established in 1997. EyeSouth Partners announced on November 15 that it purchased University Retina and Macula Associates (RUMA), marking the 530th Physician Medical Groups transaction of 2022.  EyeSouth Partners is an eye care services organization and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. It’s been an incredibly busy January, and deal volume continues to pile up. Investor interest in physician groups has swelled in particular, as we reach 36 deals and counting. Ophthalmology Groups Are Still Selling

Despite the effects of COVID-19 on physician groups, investors are still acquiring ophthalmology groups, especially in the third quarter, according to DSO. Just last week, EyeSouth Partners acquired Retina Associates of Middle Georgia (RAMG) for an undisclosed sum. Based in Macon, Georgia, RAMG provides treatment for the retina, macula, and vitreous diseases at two clinics in the middle Georgia area. The practice has three physicians. The affiliation represents EyeSouth’s eighth in the state of Georgia and eighteenth affiliation overall.
